Lance Abel President
Lance Abel has over 25 years of professional sales and management experience. He was introduced to new homebuilding in 1996 in Houston, where he worked until 2009. In 2009, Lance started Mill Creek Custom Homes in Bellville, Texas with a passion to bring his extensive knowledge, experience, and design flair to the central Texas area, where he and his family moved in 2007. Lance has a passion for innovation and design. His vision has and will always be to build homes for his clients in the manner he would build his own home. A simple principle that ensures satisfied customers.
Christie Abel Vice President
Christie holds a BA degree from Sam Houston State University with a major in Business Management. She has over 19 years of experience in the Real Estate and Mortgage Banking industry. Christie currently holds the position of Vice President. She and Lance stay busy with their three children and enjoy spending time fishing on the Texas Coast.
David Hadsell Vice President of Sales and Marketing
David Hadsell attended the University of Texas at Austin where he majored in Corporate Communications. He joined Mill Creek Custom Homes in 2013 as a Construction Manager, with over 10 years of sales and management experience. David has worked in various fields within the housing industry. He began his career as a mortgage banker in Austin and was promoted to Vice President of Operations for a statewide mortgage company. After moving his family to Brenham, Texas, his focus shifted to custom home sales and construction. He now serves as Vice President of Sales and Marketing for Mill Creek. When he’s not at the office, you’ll find him working on the farm with his wife and 6 kids!
John Hill Vice President of Operations
John Hill has over 15 years of construction management experience. His resume includes production and custom home building. John rejoined the Mill Creek team in 2017 after opening with the company in 2009. He takes great pride in doing his job well. John’s hobbies include family time with his wife and children.
Meagan Semora Purchasing Manager
Meagan Semora is the Purchasing Manager at Mill Creek Custom Homes. Meagan holds a Bachelor of Science degree from Texas State University where she studied interior design and a real estate certificate from Blinn College. She brings to Mill Creek Custom Homes over 5 years of architectural and design experience in both the commercial and residential industry. She has been an employee since 2017. Meagan is an active member of both the American Society of Interior Designers and International Interior Design Association. After college Meagan moved back to her hometown, Columbus, Texas, where she currently resides.
Michelle Townsend Office Manager
Mrs. Townsend moved to Bellville, Texas in 2002 with her family pursuing a career in the field of education. She worked in various fields of education in both public and private schools for over 10 years. She received her Administrator Certification and numerous Technology Certificates from the Texas Teachers Academy. She joined Mill Creek Custom Homes in 2014 as the Construction Coordinator. Mrs. Townsend is a valuable part of our team helping to coordinate and schedule the construction of our homes. Outside of the office her interest include spending time with her sons, watching movies, and attending baseball games.
Stephanie Bober Controller
Stephanie Bober is the Controller at Mill Creek Custom Homes. She attended Sam Houston State University where she majored in Criminal Justice. Her career path began as a paralegal in maritime defense, then transitioned to staying at home to raise my 3 children. Later, she moved into financial accounting where she worked for an insurance and mortgage company advancing to Controller. She is a creative, project oriented person and enjoy the home building process as it embodies each homeowner’s personal visions to create their ideal living environment. When she’s am not working, she enjoys spending time with her family and friends, as well as traveling both in the US and internationally learning about history, culture and most of all, the food.
Ashlynn Wobus Design Coordinator
Ashlynn Wobus is the Design Coordinator here at Mill Creek Custom Homes, where she specializes in helping customers select materials to make their house the home they have always dreamed of. With a strong background in Interior Design, Ashlynn brings over 4 years of experience to the team, working to coordinate design details for each customer seamlessly from project start to finish. Before joining Mill Creek Custom Homes in 2024, Ashlynn worked in residential design while attending college and joined a commercial Architecture firm after graduating from Texas State University. She holds a bachelor’s degree in Interior Design, and is passionate about marrying aesthetics and functionality into her designs. Outside of work, Ashlynn enjoys spending time with her family, friends, and dogs, sitting down with a good book to read, or spending time learning something new about the ever changing design world.
Bryan Sanders Sales Professional – Chappell Hill Location
Bryan Sanders joined the Mill Creek Team in 2017, to launch and manage the Pool & Outdoor Living Division. Mr. Sanders is a landscape designer that excels at creating exciting designs for clients. He takes the time to genuinely listen to client’s desires and brings their visions to life. Mr. Sanders is a member of The Association of Pool and Spa Professionals and has over 20 years of experience. He is a graduate of Texas A&M University, where he met his wife Shannon. He enjoys the outdoors and spending time with his family. After two decades of coaching youth sports for his three children, he now treasurers being a spectator at his children’s sporting events and participating in their athletic booster clubs.
Madison Abel Sales Professional – Katy Location
Madison has a BA in Communication Studies from Sam Houston State University. She joined Mill Creek Custom Homes in 2018. Madison is a valuable member of our sales team, she takes the time to listen to client’s needs and desires, in order to bring their dream to life. Outside of the office, her hobbies are spending time with her dogs, and taking care of her plants.
Helen Moody Purchasing Agent
Mrs. Moody moved to Chappell Hill, Texas in 2001 where she still lives today with her husband of 30 years. She worked in stainless steel sales in Houston for 10 years prior to their move to Chappell Hill, then moved into purchasing with a large machine shop in Brenham for over 8 years. She has been with Mill Creek Custom Homes since 2017 assisting with obtaining quotes for customers selections and building materials. In her spare time she enjoys yard work, gardening, spending time with friends and observing our abundant Texas wildlife.
Bobby Brune Accounting Clerk
Bobby joined Mill Creek Custom Homes in 2020 following 50 years of management in a small family owned business in Tomball. He currently reviews all vendor invoices for payment and shares the workload of multiple other clerical duties. Bobby is working on his Residential Inspector License to further his career at Mill Creek. In his spare time, Bobby enjoys woodworking in his home shop and tinkering with construction projects at home. Bobby and his wife, Sandy, have two grown children and 5 grandchildren.
Laura Hoover Purchasing Assistant/Warranty Coordinator
Laura joined the team in March 2021. She has 17 years in the construction industry. She is a long time resident of Somerville, where she still resides with her 2 sons, and elderly mom whom she takes care of. She works in our purchasing department as an assistant obtaining bids for building material. She is also one of our warranty coordinators, working with home owners on warranty concerns and getting them resolved as quickly and efficiently as possible. Her sons attend Brenham High School so when not at work she is chaperoning or volunteering with the MCJROTC program when needed. In her spare time she likes making wooden crosses and spending time with family.
John Miller Construction Manager
John joined Mill Creek Custom Homes at the beginning of 2021 as a Construction Manager with over 10 years of home building experience. He loves spending time with his family and coaching Little League baseball. He is also an avid outdoorsman who enjoys hunting and fishing.
Steven Maupin Construction Manager
Steven graduated from Texas A&M University in 2011. He joined Mill Creek Custom Homes in 2021 as a Construction Manager with over 8 years of experience in new home construction. Steven likes hunting, fishing and spending time with family.
